Treatments

GRADE 1 and GRADE 2 (PARTIAL TEAR) – MAINLY CONSERVATIVE OR GROWTH FACTOR THERAPY
GRADE 3 (COMPLETE TEAR) – SURGERY ONLY OPTION

  1. Conservative treatment: This involves rest, physiotherapy, and possibly the use of a brace to support the knee. It is typically recommended for individuals with a partial tear and Grade 1 and 2 tear.
  2. Growth factor injection in ACL – Growth factor concentrate Platelet Rich Plasma therapy injection in ACL mainly on partial tear.
  3. ACL Reconstruction Surgery: for Complete ACL Tear / high Grade ACL tear. During the surgery, the torn ligament is replaced with a graft. ACL reconstructions are performed ‘arthroscopically aided’ through a small incision with arthroscope. This utilizes small incisions to help visualize and make the tunnels for placement of the ACL graft. The aim of an ACL reconstruction is to replace the torn ACL with a graft that reproduces the normal kinetic functions of the ligament.
  4. ACL reconstruction with internal bracing – latest technique with hybrid graft. Eary back to sports .
